The Project

At the end of 2023, Mesh Direct was tasked with an important project for Trescon, a leading construction company based in Sydney. The project involved the removal of existing signage from a site in Double Bay, followed by the re-installation of new signage featuring Trescon’s branding. This job required careful coordination and approvals from both the local council and Transport for the Road Occupancy Licence (ROL) due to the site’s location.

The Challenge

The project presented a unique set of challenges. The existing signage had been installed by a previous builder who had unfortunately gone into receivership, leaving the site in a state of limbo. Additionally, the location in Double Bay required special permits and approvals from both the council and transport authorities, adding layers of complexity to the job. The need to navigate these processes while ensuring a seamless transition from the old builder’s signage to Trescon’s new branding was critical.

Mesh Direct had originally supplied this site with A & B class Vinyl Hoardings for the previous client. When the previous builder went into receivership, we made considerable efforts to track down the real estate agent managing the site and ultimately connected with the architects responsible for the project. After discussing the situation with the architects, we provided a quote for the removal and replacement of the signage. However, the architects were unable to proceed due to budget constraints.

When Trescon was appointed as the new builder, they reached out to Mesh Direct based on our established connection with the architect. Trescon required the removal of the existing signage and the installation of new Vinyl with Keder Edging. Leveraging our familiarity with the site and our expertise in handling such transitions, we were able to deliver a solution that met their needs efficiently and within the required timeframe.

The Result

The project was successfully completed, with the old signage removed and the new Trescon-branded signage installed seamlessly. The new Vinyl with Keder Edging provided a clean, professional look that enhanced the site’s appearance. Despite the initial complications, Mesh Direct’s persistence and ability to adapt to changing circumstances ensured the job was completed to meet the client’s expectations. Trescon was pleased with the outcome, and the project highlighted Mesh Direct’s ability to manage complex installations, including those requiring multiple approvals and coordination with various stakeholders.
