Campbelltown Arts Centre are the celebrated hosts of this year’s 22nd Biennale of Sydney, called NIRIN. To mark the occasion, they reached out to Mesh Direct with a highly specific premium banner mesh idea. It’s always a pleasure to work with pillars of the Sydney community, and even more so when they’re willing to challenge themselves and us to achieve unique, statement results!
Campbelltown Arts Centre sent us a superimposed image of a banner idea they had in mind for the ongoing event, setting expectations high and precise. Our design team rose to the challenge and delivered above and beyond those expectations.
The install itself was also quite tricky. Due to location and restrictions, the banners had to be fed into custom sailtrack frames, built by the client’s contractors. It became a highly collaborative project!
Mesh Direct chose to use our premium banner mesh, which offers fantastic print quality and high durability out-of-doors. A keder edge finishing was added, to protect the banner against vandalism and urban wear-and-tear.
You can barely tell the difference between the superimposed image and the final install! The banner design is evocative and engaging, interlocking powerfully with the atmosphere of this extraordinary cultural event.
