From Enquiry to Installation: How Kim Hider Delivered a Seamless Hoarding Solution

At Mesh Direct, every project tells a story and this one’s all about collaboration, precision, and problem-solving. When a new enquiry landed through our website, Kim Hider, our Head of Sales, took the lead to turn it into a perfectly executed hoarding project.

Here’s how Kim managed the process from start to finish 👇

Q1: How did the enquiry come in + what was the request?

Kim: This came in as an inbound through our website. The client was looking for a hoarding wrap and needed support in both the design and approval process.

Q2: How did you handle the request? What questions did you ask?

Kim: I called the client directly to understand the scope and site conditions. I asked for the street elevation of the hoarding plans and confirmed whether the hoarding was already installed or still to be erected. That helped us plan the best approach for both artwork and installation.

Q3: What were the challenges or requirements with the job?

Kim: The main challenge was achieving council approval, particularly ensuring we could feature a render of the building and site within the artwork design.

Q4: How did you solve those challenges?

Kim: We created multiple design options to present to council for review. I worked closely with Aimee, our in-house designer, to make sure each version met technical specs and looked polished. That collaboration helped us find a balance between compliance and creativity.

Q5: Were there any specific details that needed extra consideration?

Kim: Yes, the hoarding had sliding gates running behind it, which meant we had to make sure the banner’s installation wouldn’t affect how those gates functioned. We had to carefully plan the sail track placement to allow smooth operation after install.

Q6: What was your solution?

Kim: Clear and precise communication with our installation team was key. We took detailed measurements and made sure everyone understood how the design and hardware interacted before install day.

Q7: What was the result?

Kim: The gates were able to slide perfectly with the banners attached, and the finished hoarding looked seamless.

Q8: Any additional details or follow-ups?

Kim: The client was really happy with the final result, both in how it looked and how smoothly it all ran.

At Mesh Direct, it’s this kind of teamwork, from enquiry to install, that ensures every project lands beautifully.
From navigating approvals to on-site problem-solving, Kim and our crew make complex projects simple.
